You will visit the Cathedral of Toledo, the Museum of the Visigoth Councils, the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca and the Church of Santo Tomé where you can see the most important work of El Greco "The Burial of the Lord of Orgaz". You will also visit exclusively the Archaeological Remains of Toledo (Roman baths, well, House of the Jew), which cannot be accessed without a guide and which will help you understand the origin of the city. Drumming Dancing and Dinner Indigenous Garifuna Style

The perfect way to dive into local culture! Come and experience this Garifuna drumming, dancing and dinner extravaganza. Under a beautiful traditional Thatch Palapa on the edge of Punta Gorda town, you will be given a brief overview of the fascinating Garifuna people and culture of southern Belize. You will then be treated to a 45 minute professional group performance of a number of traditional rhythms and songs. If your feet start to tap along, then don't despair, as you'll be given the opportunity to join the traditional dancing lesson at the end. Once you have worked up a slight sweat and earned your dinner, it's time to sit down, relax and enjoy a traditional Garifuna meal of "hudut" - fillet fish sauteed in lightly seasoned coconut milk, served with mashed plantain.

Learn about Garifuna drums and history and how to play up to 6 rhythms on the segunda drum. Play with your host, who will play the faster-paced primero drum while singing traditional songs. Afterwards, enjoy one hour drum-making lesson followed by your delicious "hudut" Garifuna fish stew lunch.

Next enjoy a 30 minute professional performance by your host and his talented, welcoming family group. Finally, sit back & savor a traditional Garifuna lunch of hudut - fresh fish fillet sautéed in handmade coconut milk and lightly seasoned with cilantro and other herbs, served with mashed plantain. Vegetarian/vegan variation can be provided! Naturally gluten and lactose free.

An authentic and interactive Garifuna drumming lesson for all ages. Join a whirlwind introduction to the fascinating and unique culture and music of the Garifuna people of southern Belize. Fun for all ages, abilities, backgrounds, even if you've never touched a drum in your life. Everyone loves learning to play the Garifuna drums. Your instructor will give you a brief history of the unique UNESCO recognized Garifuna people, music and culture. He will then launch straight into your drumming lesson, teaching you a selection of beats on your own large "segunda" bass drum before joining in on his own drum with dynamic and fast rhythms and songs.
