After pickup, we will hit the road and head to Ekom Nkam Falls which are the most beautiful waterfalls in Cameroon. The journey to get there normally takes 3½ hours. The falls are located in an area with little traffic and little tourism, so you will be the only one to contemplate this grandiose spectacle. It is a must visit for all nature lovers. 2 Day Guided Wildlife Spotting in the Ngoyla Faunal Reserve
The Ngoyla Faunal Reserve is the most easily accessible protected area in the famously wildlife-rich Cameroonian TRIDOM area. Its boundary can be reached within 7 hours from Yaoundé with a city car; however, moving inside the forest block requires a 4WD car, and is permission dependent. The reserve provides shelter to all iconic rainforest species, such as forest elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, buffaloes, sitatungas, among others... The Mbango and Namodomo bais are natural forest cleanings, which enable our guests to spot forest animals that enjoy the mineral-rich mud outside the dense forest. Visiting these bais and spending a night in the rainforest provides a true expedition experience with limited time and budget.
Situated in the south of Cameroon and declared a heritage for humanity by UNESCO in 1987, the Dja Reserve covers a surface area of 5260 km2. more than 1500 vegetable species were identified. As for fauna, there are about 107 mammals and 320 bird species scattered in and around the reserve. This fauna comprises mainly of : elephants, gorillas and chimpanzees, ideal for ecotourism lovers. Both reserves are considered to be true wildernesses, far away from modern civilization. The expedition starts in the Ngoyla Faunal Reserve with two-days long wildlife spotting; and then continues in the Dja Faunal Reserve targeting its inhabitants and natural wonders. Our guests will get to know the Baka pygmies' traditional life, meet wildlife up close, and climb above the luxuriant green rainforest on Petit Rocher rock cathedral. Well experienced rangers will secure our campsites during the nights that will be spent in the forest, so no extra skills would be required, beyond courage... The difficulty of the expedition is moderate; however, perseverance is required to complete the 7-days of this amazing adventure.
