Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Tour from Berlin.

The former concentration camp Sachsenhausen was the first purposely built camp to be established as a center for terror, fear, persecution, torture, experimentation and murder. Initially it imprisoned those the Nazi's deemed to be racially, socially or politically inferior. On your way to the former concentration camp pass through the local town of Oranienburg and learn how the population supported and benefited from its operation. Your expert, licensed guide will accompany you through the former prison/punisment cells, infirmaries, barracks, gas chamber and crematoria. Learn stories of valour and solidarity amongst the inmates in the face of an almost hopeless situation. During our tour you will visit the Inspectorate of Camps, from this innocuous looking building the Nazi's controlled the entire concentration camp sytem of Europe. Berlin City Tour in a Mini Hotrod

Experience Berlin in the most exciting way while driving Yourself in a street legal mini hotrod past Berlin's main attractions. You quickly become an attraction yourself. The tour starts at the legendary R.A.W. site, which is still the last piece of "real" Berlin and takes you past the Berlin Wall (Eastside Gallery) to Alexanderplatz, via Hackescher Markt, Friedrichstraße, past the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Gendarmenmarkt. Before setting off on the route, you will receive a theoretical and practical briefing (approx. 10-15 min). Once you have successfully passed all the driving tests, we will set off into the city (approx. 75-80 min). Always in formation, we will guide you safely through the city. If you want to take a photo, let your guide know and he will take a little photo break. Our tours are uncommented, as the focus is on the road and the driving experience. Safety comes first.

This shore excursion combines our classic All-in-One Best of Berlin trip with a brief visit to the largest concentration camp near Berlin: Sachsenhausen.  We will pick you up directly at your cruise ship docking in Warnemünde or Rostock, and bring you to Berlin to see the city's essential sites. You will then be driven to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp for an overview of the memorial site. Please be aware, Sachsenhausen is roughly a one hour drive from Berlin. The tour is organized to minimize time spent on the bus. This is why we visit Sachsenhausen in the afternoon, as it lies on the way back to port. More time, however, is spent on the bus than on our regular Berlin shore excursion. All of our shore excursions are adjusted to each ship’s docking times and each starts promptly after your vessel’s arrival, returning with plenty of time to spare before its departure. We have been organizing shore excursions for nearly a decade and have never missed a cruise ship’s departure.
